Belén Rodríguez

Belén, (Belén Rodríguez González), born in Valladolid in 1981, lives and works between Madrid and Viena. She is Magister Art by the Academy of Arts of Viena since 2010, where she studied with Professor Heimo Zobernig and graduated in Arts by Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 2007. In the last few years she has enjoyed different Artist in Residence grants, as BMUKK in Tokyo, Hangar + GlogauAir in Berlin, Academia de España in Rome, Noestudio in Madrid, Hooper Projects in Los Angeles and Atelierhaus Salzamt + CreART Linz, Austria. Some of her individual exhibitions are “PINTRUA” in  Fúcares de Almagro Gallery in 2016, “After Sputnik” in Galeria Josh Lilley of London in 2013, “Circa” in Das Weisse Haus, Viena, 2011, “XXXXX” in Galeria Parra y Romero, Madrid, in 2010 and “Kore Sore Are” in Öesterreichisches Künstler Atelier Arakawa-ku, Tokio, 2009. She has received Staatstipendium grant of the Culture Ministry of Austria in 2015, the first Price of the Award Ciutat de Palma Antoni Gelabert of Palma de Mallorca in 2013 and the Generation Award 2011 of Caja Madrid, among others.Her work can be seen in the Galery Josh Lilley in London and in El Archivo de Creadores of Matadero, Madrid.

Belén Rodríguez is one of the beneficiary of the grant consequence of the agreement between El Ranchito (Matadero) and Artista X Artista. This selection was carried away by a jury that evaluated the projects of the applicants.
